Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease. It is a skin condition, which is characterised by red scaly patches all over the skin, caused because of excess scaling. Normally, our skin cells can grow either as normal growth or as a healing wound. Every skin cell has a life cycle of 28 days. However when the skin is wounded, a process known as regenerative maturation occurs, in which the skin cells are produced at a much faster rate with the aim of repairing the wound. In psoriasis, the skin cells go into perpetual regenerative maturation, i.e. inspite of no wound the skin cells are formed at a very rapid rate but are not shed just as fast.

Ayurvedic Treatment

External medication serves to provide only temporary relief from the itching and the eruptions almost always re-appear as soon as they are stopped. Ayurvedic medicines are virtually safe completely and there are hardly any chances of side effects even if the medication is taken for a few years. Ayurveda can offer a lot by way of treatment for psoriasis. Through prescribing a correct ayurvedic medication, basing on doshas (bioregulating principles) a lasting solution can be found.

Ayurveda treats the patient as a unique individual. The treatment of psoriasis depends on many factors and Ayurveda delves into the root cause of the problem, understands the causative and triggering factors of the illness and treats them in order to give the best results.
